Celebration time

We are celebrating the END of the first week of school!!!!!!!! Playiong in the back yard with our monkeys while Charles grills, baked potatoes, pork chops, and baked potatoes!!!!!!!!!! Life is good!!!! Yummy, too!

Monterrey Chicken Night Chicken breast cooked and topped with tomatoes, bacon crumbles, grren onions and cheese Scalloped potatoes, Corn on the cob, And yellow cake with chocolate frosting and pecans It smells so good in here!!!!!!

Back to school...

I now have a freshman(9th), a 4th grader, Kinder(homeschool) and 3K(homeschool)!

Vacation 2010

We finally found a few minutes to get away and relax...So, we zig-zagged our way through Texas.1st stop...Dublin, TX to tour the original Dr. Pepper plant...and sipped on a nice cold bottle of Dublin Dr. Pepper while we toured. Then we went over to Brenham to tour the Ice Cream Plant. YUM, YUM!!!!!!!!!Next stop...San Antonio...toured the Alamo and The Riverwalk and ate lunch on the riverwalk.And of course, we dropped by to visit with our Godparents/Cousins!!!!!!!!!!!!!Galveston was last on the list. Pretty dissappointed. It is still not "put back together" yet. ut the kids had a great time running around on the beach!

It may have been at the last minute...and it may have been short and sweet...but it was certainlly worth every minute to get away from the schdules and chores and kiss summer goodbye in style. Now I feel like I can breath again and face the new school year with a little more energy.

My baby girl turned 5

Sara got a pair of twinkle toes and I made her new baby a pair of matching twinkle toes.

Sara had a wonderful day with her family and Grandparents.
Charles made her baby bed for her new "American girl" and grandpa made her the clothes rack for her doll's wardrobe.

Tax Free Weekend

Seriously??????August 20-23 Who waits until the week school starts to buy clothes and supplies????? I know I am always ahead of the game but come on, this has to be a joke!!!! I know I have OCD and other related issues but waiting until the weekend school starts is insane! I can't even wrap my head around it. Why have it at all? It doesn't apply to everything and saving $ 6 on every $100 is not my idea of smart when buying that late in the shopping fest, there won't even be a selection of sizes, etc. left to chose from. Nope...not me! Just save us the thought and cancel this rediculous waste of time!

Okay people, tomorrow Whataburger is giving away a free burger to everyone wearing orange from 5-8pm inside only. Taco Cabana is also giving away free tacos tomorrow
