We had an awesome week! We went to the park to soak up the beautiful weather Sunday and Monday. Picnic lunches and some quality play time! Monday we also took the morning to shop with Hayley's birthday money! She had a great time spending her money and when it ran out she enjoyed spending some of my money, too.
Tuesday we had a play date that was cancelled due to rain. But that was okay, I love rain as much as sunshine! I really do!! So we just played indoors instead. But the rain didn't stay long.
The rest if the week was rain free, back to the B-E-A-Utiful sunshine!
So Wednesday we did all the yard work and I managed to weed all the back flower beds before taking our picnic to the park. (My kids think the park is their second home.)
Thursday came and Charles was finally off to play with us the rest of the week. So we called up all the Grandparents and went to ride Go-Karts. One Grandparent had actually never been on a go-kart before this. Everyone had a lot of fun even though there was a very long wait in between each ride. I got in trouble for driving my go-kart too fast! Whatever!!! Is there any other way to drive it??? This day ended, you guessed it, at the park! The kids played until they were tired and dirty and then we had a cook out-hot dogs and hamburgers and chocolate pie!!! Yum!!!
On Friday, we decided we needed to feel as if we were somewhat productive, so we knocked out a few honey-do's before thinking about how we would play this day away. By lunch we decided to take a picnic to the park and watch the ducks swim and then after a little light shopping and a few more honey-do's we went out to dinner.
Saturday turned very cold and we decided the best way to spend the day was at home with the Wii. It was a lazy fun day. We drove home from church that night in the snow! Okay, what am I missing here, more snow? Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying it!!!! Escpecially the fact that it is REAL snow and not Texas Ice/snow flurries mixed. It is only March and we have alreay set record after record in the weather dept.
And you know what, that is okay! It really is the perfect end to a perfect week! We don't want to have togo back to school if the weather is all sunny and beautful...this is exactly the way it needs to be.
It is also exactly the way it was last Spring Break...
Last year we spent the whole week at Lake Murray. There were some pretty sunny days and a day of rain that week, too. We had a great time and did a lot of relaxing and the day after we came home the snow hit Lake Murray hard. (If only we could have stayed one more day!!!)
But this year we didn't have to miss the snow.
Now, am I ready to go back to school Monday???? NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish it was summer already! I really do!
But I do feel that I gave the kids the best time at a stay-cation this year.
We all had fun.
It's not having what you want...it's wanting what you have!
I had my family at home, playing, having fun, enjoying lots of weather changes, make the most of each day and loving every minute of it. It is EXACTLY what I wanted!!!!!!!!
Hope you also had a fabulous Spring Break 2010!
Okay, Monday...bring it on...I'm ready...
